shree brahmachaitanya maharaj was born at gondavale on febraury 19th 1845.his name was ganapathi his grandfather and all call him as ganu.his desire to be on the pathway of god.he was guided by tukaram maharaj and tukaram maharaj renamed him as brahmachaitanya and he established €˜Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram' as Tarak Mantra (Uplifting Incantation). He was inducted by his Guru and asked to propagate the importance of Namasmaran, through which one can commune and be one with God. Shri Gondavalekar Maharaj, lovingly referred to as Maharaj, incessantly worked on the task given to him by his Guru from age fourteen till his death. He passed away at age sixty-nine (December 23rd, 1913) at Gondavale.
